I’m an environmental journalist and video producer based in Oakland, CA. As someone who grew up in a cabin on a dirt road where wildfires were an annual catastrophe, I know that climate change impacts the most vulnerable first.
I focus stories examining environmental health injustices and what we can do to fight back. I’ll talk your ear off about water inequality, lead poisoning, natural gas and plastics. You can see my work on The Guardian, The Intercept, NBC, PBS, KALW News, and Oakland North.
I speak Spanish and can get by in Tagalog.
In case you’re wondering, here’s how to say my name: JOS-lin Tuh-BAWN-kai. When I’m not working, I’m doing chin ups like Sarah Conner in Terminator 2, watching cult documentaries, and making cocktails. Cheers.
